Dianne S. Ulbricht, 71, of South Bend passed away comfortably in her home on Saturday July 5th after bravely battling cancer.

She was born on June 24, 1943 in South bend to Robert E. and Racyn J. (Barber) Bernhardt.

On July 2, 1983 in South Bend, as the former Dianne E. Bernhardt, she married Frederick A. Ulbricht, Sr., who survives.

As a graduate of Riley High School Class of 1961, Dianne dedicated her life to making people feel beautiful. During her career as a beautician at Fashion Flair and Cheveaux Salon, she helped countless cancer patients discover their inner beauty through the Hello Gorgeous program.

Dianne is survived by her husband Frederick, one brother; William (Diane) Bernhardt of South Bend, two sons; Donald K. (Beverly) Greider and Michael J. (Tina Willis) Greider, both of South Bend, two step children; Elaine K. Stoner and Deborah A. Ulbricht, both of South Bend. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and her lifelong friend Jan Mankowski.

She was preceded in death by parents Robert and Racyn Bernhardt, one sister; Barbara Szalewski, and one step-son; Frederick A. Ulbricht, Jr.

Dianne loved life and would never pass up an opportunity to bowl or go to the casino with friends. Her beautiful smile and straight forward advice will be dearly missed.

Visitation hours will take place Tuesday July 8 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Hanley and Sons “Southwest Chapel” Funeral Home located at 23421 State Road 23/ West Ireland Road South Bend. Services will be held Wednesday July 9 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Ernie Troxell officiating.  Burial is to follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery in South Bend.
