Wayne was my favorite engineer in all my 35 years of teaching. He was friendly, kind, caring, and as intelligent a listener as he was a conversationalist. I'm surprised the obituary did not mention that Wayne attended Bethel College at night and earned a bachelor's degree. I remember how lovingly he spoke of his wife and daughter.

To Wayne's Daughter and Family:

Having taught at John Adams High School, I knew Wayne and additionally talked additionally to him at the Dialysis Center while we waited for loved ones' treatments. He was such a personable and caring individual.

It is so sad that he lost his wife and now his daughter has lost her father. The words "We are so sorry...." and "...thinking of you... ." seem so inadequate; however, in the future the grief will tend to mellow in to loving memories and peace.

May God Bless and be with you during this difficult period of time and in the future.

Wayne was always so upbeat, so helpful. Just last week, as we were watching our girls sing, we discussed his energy for life. It seems surreal. I cannot imagine your thoughts. Prayers from our family to yours.

I taught at Adams High School and had almost daily conversations with Wayne. He was always so friendly and helpful. I remember vividly sharing with him his excitement on having his daughter come into his life. He was such a devoted father and husband. Wayne always had pictures of his family with him and proudly showed them to me. The teachers in the John Adams English Department watched Katherine grow up through her father's adoring stories and pictures.

I am truly saddened by the loss of this gentle man and send my deepest sympathy to Katherine and her family.

Katherine & Wayne's family,

Wayne was truly a wonderful person. I taught at Adams and had many chats with Wayne. When he would see me in the morning by my room, he would unlock my door for me. He told me about the Father & Daughter dances at Century Center he would go to with Katherine. He was so proud of her. I will keep the Fassett Family in my prayers.
