I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free

I’m following the path God laid for me.

I took His hand when I heard Him call

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way

I found that place at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.

Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life’s been full, I savored much.

Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief;

Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me

God wanted me now, He set me free.

Dustin enjoyed reading, writing and growing plants especially succulent plants.

A Memorial Service for Dustin will be held at a later date.

The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to NAMI National Alliance on Mental Illness, 3803 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203.  www.nami.org

Dear Jan, I was simply curious about you and where and who you are now and I ran in to dustins obit. I'm so sorry. I remember little Dustin curling up on your couch in St. Joe on top of me while I lay there watching TV and saying to me "It's alright, It's ok: never having a clue what he meant. Maybe he knew something or sensed something I didn't. But I will tell you he was a sweet child and such a pleasure to me in those days. I hope you're safe, doing well and happy. Doug Rowe
