Lloyd A. Racine, 88 of North Liberty passed away on Tuesday, March 7th at the Center for Hospice Care, South Bend,
He was born on December 18, 1928 in Winooski, VT to the late Wilfred and Madeline (Blanchette) Racine. He was a resident of the Michiana Area for the past 60 years.
On November 13, 1953 in South Bend he married Joan P. Pinkowski who survives.
Lloyd is also survived by his daughter, Sandy (Tedd) Kronk, two sons, Ron (Lynn) Racine and Richard (Allison) Racine all of North Liberty; four sisters, Jeanette McCaffrey of Vermont, Delorie Sloma of Park Ridge, IL, Carol Huttchingson of Vermont and Nancy Devanski of Sarasota, FL; two brothers, Randall (Marsha) Racine of Arizona and Robert (Sadie) Racine of California; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Roger L. Racine on March 9, 2009 and two brothers, Roland and Carl Racine.
Lloyd retired from Allied Signal after many years of service as an Inspector. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post 189, Walkerton.
He was very proud that he had built the home him and his wife shared. He enjoyed going camping, fishing, tending to his garden, watching NASCAR and Old Western Movies and staying up to date on politics.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
