Gregory L. Fassett, 72, of Rochester, Indiana passed away on March 24th in Tijuana, Mexico after an extended illness.
Greg was born on April 25, 1951, to Andrew L. and Betty J. (Brubaker) Fassett in South Bend, Indiana. After graduating from North Liberty High School in 1969 he went on to attend Bethel College and received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a Minor in Biblical Studies. Greg married the love of his life, Sandra Ogle on August 7, 1976, in North Liberty Indiana at North Liberty Church of Christ where he also served for many years as a Deacon. Greg loved spending time in nature, hunting, fishing, taking nature walks, watching sunsets, golfing, day trips with his wife, relaxing with a cigar and a glass of scotch in the evening, and most of all spending time with his family especially his grandkids. Greg was an administrator with Miller’s Merry Manor for 40 years and was a Long Term Health Care consultant for Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester Indiana.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Sandra, along with their two daughters, Kathleen (Zachary) Walker of Kokomo, Indiana and Anne (Patrick) Furlow of Lakeland, Florida. He was the proud grandfather of seven; Sophia, Cooper and Harper Keppner, Austin, Colton, Grayson, and Cheyenne Walker. Greg is also survived by his siblings, Linda K. Duvall of Thayer, Indiana and Keith E. (Susan) Fassett of South Bend, and his former son-in-law and friend, Brian Keppner. Greg was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne A. Fassett in 2014, his father, Andrew L. Fassett in 2015, and his mother Betty J. Fassett in 2016.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday April 12th, from 4:00 until 8:00pm at the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home, 23421 State Rd. 23, South Bend, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. A funeral service will be held in Greg’s honor at 11:00 am Saturday, April 13th in the funeral chapel with Pastor Mark Davis officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Sumption Prairie Cemetery of South Bend.
