Thomas J. Drews, 56 of Lakeville, IN passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 16th in South Bend, IN.         

    He was born on September 1, 1959 in South Bend to Warner H. Jr. and Mary Ann (Thilman) Drews.  He was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area working for EVS Corp. of South Bend as a Truck Driver.                      

  Tom is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Drews of Canton, GA; a daughter, Tara M. Drews of Rolling Prairie, IN; a son, Thomas J. Drews, II of New Carlisle, IN; a sister, Nancy A. (Darrell) Wade of Canton, GA; a brother Michael A. (Jill) Drews of South Bend and his ex-wife Meria A. Drews of Rolling Prairie, IN.

  He was preceded in death by his father, Warner H. Drews, Jr.

  Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, wrestling, watching Professional Baseball.  His favorite sports teams were Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

   He graduated from LaSalle High School in 1978.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Hanley and Sons “Southwest Chapel” Funeral Home located at State Rd 23/W. Ireland Rd., South Bend.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 23rd at St. Adalbert’s Roman Catholic Church, South Bend, with Father Pete Pacini officiating.  Burial will follow at Fair Cemetery, North Liberty, IN.                      

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorial contributions be made to his children Tara and Thomas Drews at any Teacher’s Credit Union.
