  Mary F. (Mulstay) Swanson, 84 of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, April 14th at Wedgewood Pines Group Home following an extended illness.

  Mary was born in Des Moines, Iowa on April 5, 1937.

  Mary is survived by her daughter, Catherine M. (William) Horvath of Mishawaka, two grand-daughters: Courtney A. Horvath of South Bend, Katie M. (Spencer) Horvath of Granger, and great-grandchildren Madisyn Gavros, Graham and Tanner Michael.

   She was proceeded in death by her son, John W. Phillips III and her husband, John (Jack) W. Swanson.    

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to birdsandbeaks.org., Southern Care Hospice, 310 West McKinley Avenue, Suite 340, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or Wedgewood Pines Assisted Living, 50771 Hollyhock Road, South Bend, IN 46637.   

  A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 21st from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel” located at 23421 State Road 23/West Ireland Road, South Bend, IN. A private family burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. 

  The HANLEY and Sons Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extends its sympathy and heartfelt prayers to Mary’s family and friends.
