Albert R. Ewing, 89, of South Bend, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Walkerton.
Albert was born on January 20, 1936, to the late William A. and Lucille M. (Stichler) Ewing. He was born and raised in South Bend, where he became a hardworking farmer at a young age. Farming remained his life’s passion, working for Matthys Farm for many years. When he wasn’t farming, he enjoyed doing numerous woodworking projects.
Albert is survived by his siblings, Marilyn (John) Werstein of Ypsilanti, MI, Sandra (Galen) Holderread of South Bend, Bonnie (Fred) Wyant of Crumstown, Richard Ewing of Troy, MI, Arthur (Pam) Ewing of Union, MI, Lee (Roxanne) Ewing of South Bend, and Calvin (Patty) Ewing of Lakeville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Beverly Berkheiser, and Naomi Baker, and by his brothers, Carl Ewing and Norman “Billy” Ewing.
It was Albert’s wishes to be cremated with no services. He will be laid to rest at Sumption Prairie Cemetery in South Bend.
