Allison Kay Racine, 65, of South Bend, took her final rest on Monday, April 10, 2023, peacefully in her home.
Allison was born on June 27, 1957, in South Bend, to the late Robert E. and Mary Margaret (Downhour) Anderson. On April 30, 1983, in South Bend, she married Richard L. Racine who survives. Allison is also survived by her two sons Ryan D. (Elaine) Racine of North Liberty, and Dan R. Racine of South Bend and two loving grandchildren, Robert Racine and Elliott Racine. She is survived by a brother, Thomas L. Anderson of Goshen. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Beth A. Anderson.
Allison and Richard remained lifelong residences in Green Township. Allison was a loving homemaker to her family. She was very active raising their sons and enjoyed being a Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts leader. She also enjoyed gardening in the yard and baking something sweet to eat. Allison was fond of knitting and joined the North Liberty knitting class. In her quite time, she enjoyed reading good books. Allison’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family.
Allison’s family is following her wishes to be cremated. There will be a Celebration of Allison’s Life on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel”, 23421 S. R. 23, South Bend, IN 46619. Memorial contributions in honor of Allison’s life can be made to Traditions Health Hospice Care, 3555 Park Place West Suite 100, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
