Anne M. Bailey, 91, of New Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, October 26th at Briarcliff Health and Rehabilitation in South Bend.
Anne was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on February 14, 1933, to Mary (Long) and Russell J. Koehler. She was an avid animal lover and was a supervisor at the Humane Society. She retired after 20 years. She enjoyed going fishing and going bowling with friends. She was known to be a good bowler. Her greatest joy came from being with her loving family.
Anne is survived by her daughters, Debra A. (Stephen) Wilcox of New Carlisle and Cindy Bailey of South Bend. She was the proud grandmother of 10, great grandmother of 16 and the great-great grandmother of 3. She is also survived by her sisters, Janice Nomina of Colorado, Minesta Doehla and Susan McBride both of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Steven L. Bailey, daughter, Mary Kathleen VanLake, sister Pamela Scheumann, brother Barry Koehler and three grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 1st, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home, 23421 SR 23, and one hour prior to the service. A service celebrating Anne’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2nd in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Humane Society, 2506 Grape Rd., Mishawaka, In 46545.
