August L. Minne

  August L. Minne, 84, of South Bend, passed away on Thursday, December 22nd at Memorial Hospital in South Bend following an extended illness, with his loving wife by his side.

  August was born on September 12, 1938, in Mishawaka, IN to the late Gasten and Romaine Minne. On July 2, 1981, in Las Vegas, NV, he married Patricia A. Smartz. Patricia survives along with his daughter, Michele (Dean) Webster of Indiana, his stepdaughter, Sherry S. (Brian) Hupp of South Bend, his stepsons, Kevin J. (Carolyn) Otolski of Evansville and Gregory M. (Shawanna) Otolski of Holland, MI, grandchildren, Zachary and Olivia Hupp Christopher, Sydney R., Gage M., and Kyle Otolski and his great-grandchild Kamryn R. Otolski. He was preceded in death by his parents.

August was very proud to have served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a retired tool and die maker at several tool and die companies. He loved tractors, hunting, especially pheasant hunting, working in the tool and die business and being with his family.

The family is following Augusts wishes, and cremation is to take place.
