Bert A. Solymosi

Bert A. Solymosi, 65, of South Bend, passed away peacefully at home, with his loving family by his side during the early morning hours of Monday, December 18th.

Bert was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on August 27, 1958 to Michael and Ethel E. (Milnarich) Solymosi. On April 20, 1990 in Wyandotte, Michigan, Bert married the love of his life, Dorothea A. (Squires). Bert was an Electrical Engineer and worked for Cleveland Cliffs Corp. Bert enjoyed carpentry, fishing and camping, and was an Assistant Scout Master with Troup 584. Bert’ s greatest joy came from spending time with his loving family and being active with his sons.

Bert is survived by his loving wife, Dorothea, along with their 2 sons; Daniel M. and Michael P. Solymosi both of South Bend. He is also survived by his siblings, Deloris A. Solymosi of Lincoln Park, Michigan, and William (Sharon) Solymosi of Indian Rock Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, December 21st from 4:00 until 8:00pm in the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home, 23421 State Road 23, South Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM Friday, December 22nd in the St. Anthony DePadua Catholic Church, 2310 E Jefferson Blvd, South Bend. He will be laid to rest in the Sumption Prairie Cemetery of South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made in Bert’s name to cancer research or a charity of your choice.
