Bridget A. (Martin) Ort, 46, of South Bend, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 26, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Bridget was born on April 18, 1977, in South Bend, to James K. Martin and Michaela M. Walsh. On December 13, 2014, in a ceremony in Jamaica, Bridget was united in marriage to Edward A. Ort. Bridget was a loving homemaker and a lifelong resident to the area. She was an avid dart player and had a special love for giraffes. Bridget had a smile that would light up a room and it shined the most when she spent time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Bridget is survived by her husband, Edward A. Ort of South Bend, by her parents, James K. Martin and Michaela M. (Walsh) of South Bend, and by her brother, Timothy (Barbara) Martin of South Bend, and their children, Jillian and Caelyn Martin and by her brother, Michael (Amanda) Martin of South Bend, and their children, Kiley and Jack Martin and by her aunt, Kathy Walsh, her uncle, Jerry (JoAnn) Walsh and their daughter, Michelle Walsh, and by her uncle Dave (Mary Margaret) Fryday and their daughters Sarah and Deirdre. She is also survived by her in-laws, Gary and Sandy Ort, and by her brother-in-law, Jeff (Chris) Ort and their children, John, Carlye, and Macy Ort. Bridget is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Daniel M. Walsh and Mary A. (Taylor) Walsh and by her paternal grandparents, Charles Martin and Lucille Martin.
Bridget’s family is following her wishes to be cremated with no service at this time. There will be a celebration of life on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. at the Crumstown Conservation Club, 59440 Crumstown Hwy., North Liberty, IN 46554. In honor of Bridget, memorial contributions can be made to the Pet Refuge Inc., 4626 S. Burnett Dr., South Bend, IN 46614.
