Bryan L. Guthrie

Bryan L. Guthrie, 74, of South Bend, passed away in the early morning of Sunday June 16, 2024, in Memorial Hospital due to an extended illness.

Bryan was born on October 20, 1949, in Plymouth, Indiana, to the late Junior L. Guthrie and Marjorie (Garrett) Forsythe.  On November 12, 1977, he married the love of his life, Kathleen LeClercq, in Lakeville, Indiana.  They remained lifelong residents to the area.  He was self-employed in the construction business.  He enjoyed spending his time outdoors fishing, hunting and being at home with Kathy tending to the garden.

Bryan is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Guthrie of South Bend and six grandchildren.  He is also survived by his siblings, Barbara Guthrie, Colleen Kryski, Colette (Chasity) Guthrie, and Michael (Fawn) Guthrie, his sister-in-law, Julie (Gerry) McCoige, his brother-in-law Timothy LeClercq and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Bryan was preceded in death by his children, Debbie Guthrie and Bryan Guthrie, Jr.

Bryan’s family is following his wishes to be cremated.  Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, June 21, 2024, in the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel”, 23421 S. R. 23, South Bend, In 46614.  In honor of Bryan, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at stjude.org.
