Carl W. Hunt, 94, of South Bend, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in his home.
Born on February 26, 1931, in Brazil, Indiana, to Donald and Ruth (Fields) Hunt who preceded him in death, along with his wives, Beverly (Hunt) Bennett, and Anita M. Hunt, whom he was married to for 43 years. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Carl David Hunt, and Rodney Dean Hunt, by his sister, Patty Ritschard, and by his brothers, Wayne G. Hunt and James H. Hunt.
Carl lived in the South Bend area for 75 years and worked at numerous places, such as, Studebaker, Romy Hamms, and Allied Signal (now known as Honey Well), where he retired with 30 years of service. Carl was known as the “Mayor” by his friends. He had a passion for cars, racing, motorcycling, hunting and many other sports. He enjoyed fellowship at coffee shops with family and friends.
Carl is survived by his children, Lisa R. Kurz of Indianapolis, and Rick Alan Hunt of Bristol, and by his grandchildren, Megan (Anthony) Ragonesi of Lewisville, Indiana, and Dana Kurz of Indianapolis.
As per Carl’s wishes there will be no services at this time. He will be laid to rest next to his family at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. To honor Carl’s life, memorial contributions may be made to Donor’s choice.
