Carol D. (Haight) Amundson

Carol D. (Haight) Amundson, 80, of Grovertown, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in her home.

Carol was born on October 3, 1944, in Cresco, Iowa, to the late Paul M. and Evelyn M. (Thomas) Haight.  She grew up in Cresco and is where she met the love of her life, James M. Amundson.  They were married on January 9, 1965, and spent 58 wonderful years of marriage together until his passing on July 12, 2023.  They moved to the Grovertown area, in 1972 from California. 

Carol greatest joy was being a loving homemaker to her family.  She liked to tend to her garden, enjoyed reading a good novel or working a challenging puzzle.  She also enjoyed going on boat or golf cart rides. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Walkerton. 

Carol is survived by her son, Eric J. Amundson of Grovertown and was the proud grandmother to Zachary and Eric Evan Amundson and a great grandmother to Rory Amundson.  She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Haight of Houston, Texas. 

There will be a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 30th at Peace Lutheran Church, 745 County St., Ridgeway, Iowa 52165 with Pastor Nathan Wicks officiating.  There will be a visitation two hours prior to service in the church.  Burial will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery.
