Catherine E Chabera

Catherine E. (Graham) Chabera, 85, passed away on Friday May 23rd at Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

Catherine was born on April 22, 1929 in Liverpool, England to the late James and Emily (Lawlor) Graham.  She moved to the United States in 1959.  In 1963 she married Robert H. Anderson who preceded her in death on November 30, 1980.  In 1977 she married Harry H. Chabera who also preceded her in death on October 16, 2003.Catherine is survived by four daughters; Keran Anderson of South Bend, Jennifer Sparks, Marilyn Sparks, and Denise Bayman all of England, two sons; Harry (Pat) Chabera, Sr. of Edwardsburg, MI and Terry Sparks of England, one sister; Ann Riley of Liverpool, England.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren whom she loved and cherished.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands and fifteen siblings.

Catherine’s hobbies included crafts, fishing, singing, listening to all kinds of music and playing bingo.

Visitation hours will be Thursday May 29th from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel” located at 23421 State Road 23 / West Ireland Road South Bend. Services will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Ervin Mize officiating.  Cremation will follow services.

The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to the family to assist with medical bills.
