Charles Walsh Obituary

  Charles E. Walsh, 83 of South Bend passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Grand Emerald Place in South Bend, following an extended illness.

  Charles was born in South Bend on July 28, 1938 to the late Edward and Helen (Kromer) Walsh. On May 2, 1987 in Mishawaka, he married Barbara L. Smith. Barbara passed away in July of 2015. Charles is survived by his daughters: Nancy Mersich of South Bend, Jeanne (Kevin) Mahoney of Houston. TX and his son, Michael (Stacy) South Bend, step-daughters: Leslie (Bubba) Kurtz of Florida and Tresa (Todd) Harrington of Alabama along with five (5) grandchildren and four (4) great-grandchildren.

  Charles worked for over 40 years at NCP Coatings of Niles as a chemist and a salesman. He was a veteran of United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Charles was a member of the American Legion Post 303.  He was an avid sports fan, especially the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Notre Dame football, golfing and being with his loving family and friends.

  Per Charles wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held.

  Memorial contribution may be made in Charles name to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 Grape Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
