Donna Potter Obituary

Donna L. (Freel) Potter, 85, of Granger, passed into eternal life on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at North Woods Village due to a short illness.

Donna was born on July 25, 1939, in South Bend, to the late Bill and Opel (Burgeson) Freel.  On July 30, 1956 she married Tommy “Tom” J. Potter.  They spent 64 wonderful years of marriage together until his passing on January 8, 2021.  She was a loving homemaker and enjoyed every moment being surrounded by her family.   She liked to go bowling and to the casino.  She also loved her and Tom’s trips to Naples, Florida.

Donna is survived by her children, Timothy W. (Mary) Potter and Diane M. Johnston both of South Bend.  She was a grandmother to James (Melissa) Potter, Scott (Tracy) Potter, Alexandra Johnston, Elizabeth (Phillip) Yatvin, Michael (Jaycie) Potter, Michelle (Kyle) Peterson, and Matthew Potter.  She was a proud great-grandmother of six.  She is also survived by her two sisters, Patricia Jipping of Kansas City, and Vicky (Joe) Donlan of South Bend.

Along with her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by her son, Thomas E. Potter, and by her sister, Elaine Landick.

The family is following Donna’s wishes to be cremated with no services.  In honor of Donna, memorial contributions may be made to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
