Donovan R. Russell, age 25, of Mishawaka, was tragically taken from us in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 26th, 2025, as a result of a senseless act of violence. His life was cut short far too soon, leaving a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Donovan was born to Lorenzo R. Russell and Jennifer L. Stutzman in South Bend on December 14, 1999. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life — casting a line while fishing, sharing a cold Coors Light with family, and shooting hoops with his nephews and brothers. But above all, Donovan’s greatest joy came from being a father. He was completely devoted to his two young daughters, who were the center of his world. Whether he was making them laugh, comforting them when they cried, or just being present with his warm, steady love, Donovan was the kind of dad who gave his girls his whole heart. He worked hard to provide for them, protect them, and show up every day with love, patience, and pride. His face lit up whenever he spoke about them, and he found his deepest purpose in fatherhood.
Donovan is survived by his daughters, Remeyah and Riverlynn Russell, his parents, Jennifer L. Stutzman of Mishawaka and Lorenzo R. Russell of South Bend, and his siblings, Deonte Stutzman of South Bend, and Dazzinae Russell of Mishawaka along with cousins (sister/brother) that he was really close to. He is also survived by his grandparents, Brenda and Robert Henry. Donovan was preceded in death by his baby cousin Halo Stutzman, grandmother, Lynette Stutzman, grandfather, Russell D. Russell, and great grandfather RC Thomas.
