Eileen J. Kearney

Eileen J. Kearney, 92, of Highland, Indiana, passed away peacefully on her birthday, September 28, 2024.  Born on September 28, 1932, Eileen lived a life full of love, dedication, and resilience, always putting her family first.

Eileen was married to Phil Kearney for 25 years, and together they raised five children: Thomas (Dawn) Kearney of Wheatfield, IN, Joan Kearney of Ft. Myers, FL, Mary (the late Terry) Crim of Wheatfield, IN, Phyllis (Ron) Blosser of North Liberty, IN, and Phil (Lisa) Kearney of Tinley Park, IL.  Eileen was a stay-at-home mother, raising her children alongside Phil with love and care, creating a warm and nurturing home for their family.

As her children grew, Eileen took on various part-time jobs before finding her place at Carson Pirie Scott, where she worked in the fragrance department until her retirement.

Eileen leaves behind nine grandchildren, including David (Amy) Culver, Scott (Jen) Kearney, Brian (Brandyn) Blosser, Cole (Billy) Helmkamp, Matt (Tina) Blosser, Lynnsi (Tommy) Sandonato, Meggin (Kevin) Knoerzer, Luke Kearney, and Jake Kearney, along with 13 great-grandchildren.

In her retirement, Eileen focused on her health, enjoying regular exercise and mental puzzles to keep her mind sharp and body strong.  Her strength, dedication, and love of family will be forever cherished.

The family would like to express their great appreciation to the staff at Lifecare of Valparaiso for the wonderful care they provided to Eileen over the past eight years.

The family will hold a private celebration of her life at a future date to honor her memory.  Eileen’s love, warmth, and devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
