Esther Murphy Obituary

Esther “Gail” Murphy, 78, of Walkerton, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Miller’s Merry Manor from an extended illness. 


Gail was born on April 28, 1945, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Stephen and Ann (Ignatz) Kellner.  Gail is survived by a daughter, Sheila (Darren) Good of Walkerton and by a son, Scott (Ginny) Murphy of Kentland, Indiana, and by six grandchildren, Shawn Murphy, Megan Murphy, Brandon Collins, Arron Good, Darren Good Jr., and Nathan Good, and by five great-grandchildren, Piper, Taren, Conner, Arya, and Lorraine Good.  She is also survived by three sisters, Margaret Johnson of Chesterton, IN, Ruth Lanham of Appleton, WI, and Mary Garus of Orlando, FL.  Gail is preceded in death by her daughters, Diana Murphy and Lorrie Murphy, and by two brothers, Steve Kellner and Walter Kellner,and three brother-in-law’s, Jim Johnson, Tom Lanham Sr., and Carl Garus. 


Gail was a kind, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  The family is following Gail’s wishes to be cremated.
