Frances Ivey Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Frances M. Ivey “Momma”, who passed into eternal rest in the early morning of Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in her home with her family by her side, at the age of 68.

Frances was born in South Bend, on October 19, 1957, to the late Ray and Mary (Hale) McClish.  She was a lifelong resident of the South Bend area where she raised her children. She was the cook at Silver Tower Restaurant for several years.  “Momma” as most knew her, loved spending time with her family. She was a holiday enthusiast and loved decorating and cooking for her family. Momma was the most loving caring person that would go above and beyond to help any and everyone she knew. Anyone who met her was family to her for life.  She also enjoyed playing bingo and pressing her luck at the casino.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, John F. (Jennifer) Jachimiak of LaPorte, J. F. (Valerie) Jachimiak and Michael J. Jachimiak, Michael (Tara) Hamilton, Richard (Jessica) Harrell, Joseph Copeland, Michael (Brittany) Glassburn, Robert Ivey, and Kenneth Geyer Ivey all of South Bend and her fiancé, Michael Hoover of South Bend.  She was the proud grandmother to Cierra Jachimiak, Chandler Jachimiak, Alex Zander, Alivia Jachimiak, John Jachimiak, Christopher Jachimiak, Theodore Jachimiak, Woodrow Jachimiak, Alex Roth, Jacob Roth, Tyler (Megan) Cesavice, Jason R Dahlberg Jachimiak, Andre Jachimiak, Kassandra Elkins (Jeremy), Chailyn Thomas (Brandann), Darian Thomas, Skylar Thomas, Tiana Thomas (Dylan), Cyntrecia Thomas (Nathan), Breianna Thomas, Honey Rose Jachimiak, Harley Blake Jachimiak, and Jacinda Unger, along with her great-grandchildren Blaze, Oaklen, Valerie, Oliver, Priscilla, Thomas, Braxton, Milani, Melsa, Mar Kye’, and Leilani.  She is also survived by her sisters, Garnet (Donnie) Bentley and Alice McClish both of South Bend.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Jachimiak, her son, Christopher M. Jachimiak, her sister, Vicki Mann, and by her brother, Buddy Fye.
