Francis Nyikos Obituary

Francis Allen Nyikos, 79, of Mishawaka, passed away in his home on November 26th, 2022, unexpectedly.

Francis was born in South Bend, IN on June 26, 1943, to the late Frank and Helen R. (Takacs) Nyikos. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Jody Nyikos in 2020. He is survived by his sister, Cheryl (Terry) Vermande of Salem, Oregon, nieces, nephews and cousins around the area.

He proudly served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam Conflict. Following the service, he was a machinist at Dodge Reliance Manufacturing in Mishawaka, IN, until retirement. Francis was a member of VFW Post 8972 and American Legion Post 191, both in Bremen, IN.

Cremation has taken place. Burial will be on February 7th, 2023, 1:00 P.M. at the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, IN.

The Hanley and Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Service handled arrangements and extends its heartfelt sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the family and friends of Francis.
