Garey Kaser Obituary

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Garey B. Kaser, 69 years old. He was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed. He touched the lives of so many and it is our turn to honor a man we all respected and loved.

Garey was born, June 25, 1952, in South Bend IN to Edward and Loeva (Garey) Kaser. On August 7th, 1971, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy (Sattler), who survives. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary with a party their children gave them this past summer.

Garey had a very successful professional life led by hard work, honesty, and integrity. Garey was an extremely hard worker all of his life, until he could not work anymore. He owned his own business, Kaser & Maeyens, pouring concrete walls. His greatest accomplishments in life will always be his three sons.

Garey was so very proud of his three sons. He would consistently speak of all their accomplishments in life. He taught them well. He was an inspirational role model who spoke with his actions. Garey taught his boys that hard work, dedication and honesty will get them anywhere they want to be in life. Garey leaves his wife Nancy and three sons: Jeff of Lancaster, CA., Josh (Sarah) of South Bend and Jordan (Erin) of Deadwood, SD.

His proudest time in life was becoming Grumpa. His grandchildren would always bring a smile to his face. He loved them so much and would always say how precious they were. There is not a picture that was not shared with all of his friends and family. Lucy, Lilly, Maya & Ashley Kaser and step-grandson, Sean. They were Grumpa's pride and joy.

Garey is also survived by two brothers: Craig (Cindy) of Las Vegas, Nevada and John (Julie) of South Bend, IN along with several nephews and a niece. His memory will also be remembered by wonderful friends all these years, Mark & Lea Shearer along with Cindy (Jay) Duley.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 13th at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home "Southwest Chapel", 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. The funeral will be at Sumption Prairie United Methodist Church on January 14th at 11:00 A.M., with visitation one hour prior, Pastor Terry Bucholtz, will officiate. Burial will take place at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, with dinner to follow at the Greene Community Building.
