Gerald Toth, 82, of South Bend, passed away in the early morning of Monday, January 8, 2024, in his daughter’s home from an extended illness.
Gerald was born on March 4, 1941, in South Bend, to the late Frank and Rachel M. (Lootens) Toth. He was a self-employed truck driver. Although his career kept him on the road, he remained a lifelong resident to the South Bend area. Gerald eventually retired from driving truck and liked to spend his time trying his luck at casinos. He also enjoyed fishing, relaxing watching his favorite T.V. show and spending time with his best friends.
Gerald is survived by his two daughters, Dawn (Dwight) Houck of Mishawaka, and Kimberly (Jim) Speake of Mishawaka, by his son, Jerry (Kristin) Toth and by his stepson, Paul Fox of Florida, and by his nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Wayne Toth of Lakeville. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his sisters, Rebecca S. Toth and Ramona A. Toth Lute and by a brother, Frank Toth, Jr.
The family is following Gerald’s wishes to be cremated with no services.
The Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel” and Cremation Service is handling arrangements and extends our deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to all of the Toth family and friends.
