Glen Eugene Cormican

Glen Eugene Cormican, 79, of South Bend, passed away in the company of his loving family on Saturday, October 14th at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

Glen was born in Tippecanoe, Indiana on March 2, 1944, to Marion Devon and Rosetta Irene (Grandstaf) Cormican. After graduating high school, he went on to serve his country proudly in both the United States Army and also in the United States Navy. He was a proud member of the American Legion post 284.He worked as a machinist at Timco Corp. in Mishawaka before he retired. In Mishawaka in 2012, Glen married the love of his life, Michael J. Thomas. They shared forty-three years together.

Glen is survived by his loving husband, Michael, along with his siblings, Leona Kraft of Sanford, North Carolina and Carrie Hunter of Rochester, Indiana, brother-in-law John (JoAnn) Thomas of Walkerton and sister-in-law Sue (Al) Alsop of North Liberty.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister June Murray and his brother Warren Cormican. Glen was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. He enjoyed playing video games, loved animals and spending time with his family and friends.

Friends may visit with Glen’s family on Thursday, October 19th from 10:00am until service time in the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home, 23421 SR 23, South Bend. A service celebrating Glen’s life will be held at 1:00pm with Pastor Vito Rulli officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Sumption Prairie Cemetery in South Bend, with full Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 284. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W Wacker Dr Ste 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
