Gloria Faye Korlowicz, 91, of South Bend went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 24th.
Faye was born on August 10, 1933 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to Andrew Douglas and Luda Gay (Cannon) Morris. In 1955 she moved to the Michiana area. On August 5, 1960, in South Bend, she married the love of her life Edward Vincent Korlowicz, who survives. She worked many years with Indiana Bell and AT&T, where she worked as an operator. Gloria “Faye” and her husband retired in 1988 and started a long trip. They have been in 49 states, only missing Hawaii. They traveled through Canada, also going to Quebec and Prince Edward Island. They hiked the Grand Canyon and spent a summer in Alaska haven driven the Alaskan Highway. They ended up with 28 winters spent at Grape Hammock Fish Camp in Florida. They said their retirement was everything they wanted and more. By far her most important treasures were her family. As a young girl Faye placed her faith in Christ as her Savior and we know she now is rejoicing in Heaven with her Lord.
Along with her husband, Faye is survived by her children, Mona (Mark) Roberts of South Bend and Douglas (Sabrina) Korlowicz of Wilkinson, Indiana, her step-children, Deborah (Brian) Snyder of South Bend and David (Cynava) Stone of Ocala, Florida. She was the proud grandmother of 8, Amber Emerick, Ben (Monica) Stone, Jared (Taylor) Stone, Rebekah Roberts, Caleb (Sara) Roberts, Zachary (Candice) Roberts, Dalton Korlowicz and Morgan Morris, and the great grandmother of 6, Isabella, Zoey, Ryder, Hayden, Owen, and Kaylen. Gloria is also survived by her sister Flora Gean of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Douglas “CD” Morris.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, December 30th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home, 23421 S. R. 23, South Bend, IN 46614, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Stan Hullah officiating. She will be laid to rest at Mt.
