Jack W. Spillman, 95, of South Bend, passed away on Saturday, July 20th at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
Jack was born in South Bend, on June 30, 1929, to the late Oren and Eva Jo (Jensen) Spillman. After high school he joined the United State Marine Corp. and served honorably until his discharge. His service stayed close to his heart and became a member of the Marine Corp League. On June 19, 1954, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth “Betty” Spillman. They shared 65 years together before her passing in 2019. He retired from Herman & Goetz after a successful career. Though he was retired, he still enjoyed working, especially on refrigerated units. When he was ready to call it a day he enjoyed watching his favorite Western movies. Jack’s greatest joy was spending time laughing and joking with his family and grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his children; Marise “Cissy” (Danny) Gann and Kim (John) Biskupski both of South Bend, Jack W. (Debbie) Spillman Jr. of South Bend and Mike (Donna) Spillman of Mishawaka. He was the proud grandfather of 7 and great grandfather of 11. Jack is also survived by his sister, Joan Albaugh. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Scott Gann, his sisters Doreen Bowlin, Mary Evelyn Haskin, June Tucker and Kay Stroud, along with his brother Bill Spillman.
