Obituary
James R. Austin, 74, of South Bend, passed away on Saturday, December 24th at Aperion Care Tolleston in Gary, IN following an extended illness.
James was born on September 16, 1948, in South Bend, IN to the late Darrell D. and Dolores J. (Hobkirk) Austin. He is survived by his daughters, Michele L. (David) Lambert of South Bend and Mandi L. (Alan) Foust of Mishawaka, his sons, James R. (Tracy) Austin, Jr. and Patrick J. (Tanya) Austin both of South Bend and 8 loving grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, a niece and nephew. Also, his brother, Steve (Dawn) Austin of Wilmington, North Carolina.
He was employed as a factory worker in the South Bend area. James enjoyed Notre Dame sports, especially football, NASCAR, Chicago Cubs and being with family and friends.
The family is following James’s wishes and cremation will take place.
