Jill M. Nixon

  Jill M. Nixon, 51 passed away on July 7th at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth, IN, with her loving parents by her side.

  Jill was born on October 8, 1969 in Mishawaka, the daughter of William and Theda (Kaser) Nixon of South Bend. Jill attended special education classes in South Bend and graduated from Clay High School. Jill never met a stranger and loved everyone.

   She is survived by her loving and caring parents, Bill and Theda Nixon of South Bend, her brother, Jon Nixon of Mishawaka and her nieces Alexis Shock and Mallory Robinson of Mishawaka, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that loved her dearly, and that she loved dearly. She is also survived by her roommates, Stacie, Jodi and Debbie.

   Jill was involved in Special Olympics (basketball), Reins of Life (horseback riding) and SOLA (skiing). Jill loved to be outside with her family fishing on the pontoon boat, camping or digging in the dirt. She loved to dance and sometimes leave her dance partner on the floor to go and get another one. She was involved with Logan Center for many years in the day program and activities there. The last 7 ½ years she has been in a supported living home with Pathfinders in Plymouth. She attended Marshall-Stark Developmental Program (MSDC) while in Plymouth. She had a wonderful staff that loved her and took great care of her.

  In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions be made in Jill’s name to Pathfinders, 2824 Theater Avenue, Huntington, IN 46750 or Chiara Home, 1425 Clayton Drive, South Bend, IN 46614.

   A Celebration of Jill’s Life will be on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at noon at Sumption Prairie United Methodist Church, located at 24535 Roosevelt Road, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until noon, prior to the service.
