Joan P. Racine

Joan P. (Pinkowski) Racine, of North Liberty, passed into eternal rest on Sunday, May 11, 2025, in Memorial Hospital, at the age of 90.

Joan was born on July 10, 1934, in South Bend, to the late Stanley and Helen (Kopinski) Pinkowski.  On November 13, 1953, in South Bend, she married the love of her life, Lloyd A. Racine.  They shared 63 years of marriage until his passing on March 7, 2017.

Joan was a lifelong resident to the area.  She was a loving homemaker to Lloyd and their children, and she loved spending time with them. She was a member of the Greene Township and Greenacres Extension Homemakers Clubs.   She enjoyed reading books and kept busy doing needlework projects.  She loved being outdoors tending to her flowers and garden.  She was also an avid pet lover. 

Joan is survived by her children, Sandy J. (Tedd) Kronk, Richard L. Racine, and Ronald A. (Tracy) Racine, all of North Liberty.  She was the proud grandmother of six and a great-grandmother of five.  She is also survived by her sister, Elaine Kwieran of North Liberty.

Along with her parents and her husband, Lloyd, she was proceeded in death by her son, Roger L. Racine in 2009, by her brother, Robert Pinkowski and by her daughter-in-law Allison Racine.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at North Liberty Church of Christ, 65225 S.R. 23, North Liberty, IN 46554. A service celebrating Joan’s life will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Tim Stewart officiating.
