John S. Myszak
June 23, 1929 – May 14, 2022
John S. Myszak, 92, of South Bend, passed away on the morning of Saturday, May 14th at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
John was born to Joseph P. and Estella (Talentoski) Myszak in South Bend on June 23, 1929. He was one of 5 boys. He proudly served his country in the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Upon being honorably discharged he returned to the area, to marry the love of his life, Pauline W. Watson on January 15, 1955. He retired from Budd Company after 23 years. He was a member of VFW Post #9820, and American Legion Post #357. He enjoyed trips to the casino in South Bend and fishing, yet his greatest joy came from being with his family.
John is survived by his loving wife, Pauline, their daughter, Jennifer S. Caplinger of South Bend, along with three granddaughters, Amanda Lula, Tiffany (David) Winborn and Samantha Caplinger. He was the proud great grandfather of 6. He was preceded in death by his parents and his four brothers, Joseph, William, George, and Ralph.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 19th from 1:00 until 3:00pm in the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home, 23421 State Road 23, South Bend. A service celebrating his life will be held at 3 in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s honor to either, VFW Post #9820, 4829 W. Linden Ave., South Bend, IN 46619 or to St. Casimir Catholic Church, 1302 Dunham St., South Bend, IN 46619.
