John Schalk Obituary

John H. Schalk, 84, of South Bend passed away on Tuesday, August 31st at Memorial Hospital.

John was born in Duquesne, PA to the late John F. and Ceccila (Vislay) Schalk.

On July 23, 1994 in South Bend, John married Cynthia A. Slade. Cynthia passed away on September 3, 2020. John is survived by his daughter, Leslie (Bill) Chrapliwy of Bloomington, IN, step-daughters, Suzanne “Sue” Diamond of South Bend and Shari (Jon) Jones of Vancleave, Mississippi and his son, David (Donalyn) Schalk of Niles, MI and four (4) grandchildren and one (1) great-grandchild. John was proceeded in death by his parents, wife and sister, Delores Harmon.

John loved to fish, go hunting, or just being outdoors but greatest joy being with his loving family.

Memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice in John’s name.

Cremation has taken place.
