Joshua N. Jay

Joshua Noel Jay, 49, of South Bend, passed into eternal life on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

Joshua was born on May 20, 1975, in South Bend, to the late Gary Jay and Helen A. (Dalkowski) Bruce.  He remained a lifelong resident to the area.   On October 31, 2020, in South Bend, he married Diane A. Hilligoss who survives.  He is also survived by his son, Dylan A. (Erica) Dimond, of Niles, and by his step-sons, Brandon A. (April) Piraccini of Mishawaka, Nate A. Piraccini of South Bend, and Dominic P. Piraccini of Granger and by his cousins, Russ (Brenda) Shankland, Linda (Bobby) Shedlock, Debbie (Mark) Wujcik, Jeff (Laura) Starkweather, Donna (Ed) Stopczynski, Brett (Stacy) Stopczynski, Jorden (Megan) Stopczynski, Hayley (Brennan) Syverson, and Taylor Shankland. 

Joshua had many hobbies.  He enjoyed listening to music and playing video games.  He also liked to watch wrestling and movies.  The Star Wars movies were his favorite, so much that he was an avid collector of all things Star Wars and was a member of the Indiana Star Wars Collecting Community.  He also had an interest in Legos and RC cars. 

The family is following Joshua’s wishes to be cremated with no immediate services.  In honor of Joshua, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
