Junior Hammood, 62 of South Bend, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Sunday, December 12th.
Junior was born in South Bend on June 19, 1959 to the late Hassen Hammood, Sr. and Mary B. (May) Navarro. Junior is survived by his daughter, Kirsten Bates of Vermont, sons, Hassen “Smokey” (Chelsea) Hammood, III of New York and Michael Hammood of Elkhart and four (4) grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Bridget M. (Kyle) Holt, Vera Hammood-Baxter, Maria S. Navarro of South Bend, Christina M. (Heather) Navarro of Mishawaka and Severiana M. Navarro of South Bend, brothers, Frank (Rachel) Hammood of Koontz Lake and Manuel M. (Jennifer) Navarro of South Bend and his brothers, Chris Tian and Tom Szalewski. Junior was preceded in death by his parents and one (1) grandchild.
He was in the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division. He was employed as a truck driver for Old Dominion Trucking Company in South Bend. He enjoyed hiking, biking, traveling, motorcycles, camping and going to the shooting range, loved the outdoors.

A visitation will be on Sunday, December 19th from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel” located at 23421 State Road 23/ West Ireland Road, South Bend and A Celebration of Life will take place at 5:00 P.M. with Pastor Joshua Velilla officiating.
