Kay Elaine (Mobley) Parkinson, 82, of Walkerton, passed away on Thursday October 19, 2023, in her home from an extended illness.
Kay was born on March 3, 1941, in LaPorte, Indiana, to the late Kenneth and Winifred (Heim) Mobley. On August 1, 1959, she married Colonel C. Bennett. They shared 27 years of marriage until his passing in 1986. She later met Kenneth R. Parkinson, they were united in marriage on May 11, 1996, in Grovertown, Indiana. Kay loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed taking many trips to Koontz Lake and to Lake Michigan, where she had many happy memories growing up at the family cottage. She was a reader and an avid animal lover.
Kay is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth R. Parkinson, of Chicago, by her two daughters, Donna Kay (David) Stanley, of Walkerton, and Deanna King, of Warsaw, by her two sons, Kenneth (Belann) Bennett, of Grand Rapids, MI, and Brian (Susan) Bennett of Argos, IN, by her loving grandchildren, Kristen, Jodie, Dean, Dillon, Jennifer, Chris and Zoe and great-grandchildren, Lydia, Jillian, Wyatt, Archer, and Nadia. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Mobley, of South Bend. Along with her parents and her first husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ted Mobley.
Kay’s family is following her wishes to be cremated with no services. To honor Kay, memorial contributions can be made to any no kill animal shelter of choice.
