Larry A. Stull, 82 of South Bend, passed away on Saturday, February 19th in his home following an extended illness. Larry was born in Plymouth, IN to the late Dean and Alice (Thompson) Stull on June 23, 1939.
On June 26, 1960, in Plymouth, IN, Larry married Mary Lee Bowers. They were happily married for 61 years. Mary Lee survives along with their 3 sons: Dennis A. Stull of Bristol, IN, Douglas M. (Elizabeth) Stull of Chandler, AZ and Darrin C. Stull of Ft. Wayne, IN. and his loving grandchildren: Ryan and Laura Stull, along with his sisters: Barbara (Bob) Milligan of Lake Park, FL, Linda McCarthy of Michigan City, IN and his brother, Roger Stull of Plymouth, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter in law, Claire Stull.
Larry was a graduate of Tyner High School in 1959 and then was employed by Portage Construction and Ritschard Brother’s Excavating, as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Union Local 150. He loved basketball and played 4 years of varsity at Tyner High School, loved the Irish, Bears and was a die-hard Cubs fan! He loved being with his family and was a wonderful husband and father. Raised on a farm, he lived life true to his core values and instilled work ethic, compassion and strong family ties in his sons. He was known for his quick wit and “Pappyisms” and made an impression on all who knew him.

Visitation for Larry will be Thursday, February 24th from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel” located at 23421 State Road 23/West Ireland Road. The funeral service is set for 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 25th at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Eastlawn Cemetery in North Liberty following the service.
