Leah M. Cripe

Leah M. Cripe, 96, of Walkerton, IN passed away on Friday, November 11th in her home.

She was born on August 15, 1920 in LaPorte County, IN to the late Charles A. and Roseanna (Dunfee) Baxter. On April 4, 1953, she married Charles Cripe, he preceded her in death on September 3, 1997.

 Leah is survived by her daughters: Nancy S. (Lewis) Reese of Mill Creek, IN, Kay (Dirk) Pletcher and Kari Albert both of Walkerton, IN, her son, D.W. (Terri) Cripe also of Walkerton, IN. and twenty (20) loving grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, whom she loved and cherished. She was preceded in death by her children Cheryl Campion, Charles Lloyd, Robert Lloyd and Fred Lloyd, a dear son in law, Bill Albert, a grandson, Michael Albert, along with her siblings, Odetta Nolan, Vivian Lloyd, Margaret Messick, Lola Baxter, Lloyd Baxter and Todd Baxter.

          She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, who cared dearly for her family. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with them. She also loved to cook and was excellent at it.

 Visitation will be on Monday, November 14th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Walkerton Chapel” located at 1216 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, November 15th at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Perry Richard officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton.

 The family would like to thank Leah’s caregivers: Janet, Fay, Virginia, Cheryl and Linda for their compassionate care.
