Linda Sue (Johnson) Sarver, 85, of Plymouth, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth, due to an extended illness.
Linda was born on October 9, 1939 to the late Clyde and Elra M. (Goodwin) Johnson in Stonington, Illinois where she grew up. She married James D. Christie, who proceeded her in death. She later married James Sarver on March 26, 1976, in Moweaqua. He proceeded her in death on January 29, 2008. They moved to Indiana in 1978 and settled at Koontz Lake in 1996.
Linda, along with James, owned and operated a lumber business for many years. She was also an activity director of several nursing homes in the area. She was a woman of faith who was always involved in the church. When she lived in Moweaqua she was very active in the Moweaqua General Baptist Church and later a founding member of the Walkerton Bible Baptist Church. Although her active life kept her busy, her greatest joy was when she was spending her time with family, especially with all her grandkids.
Linda is survived by her sons, James R. (Dawn) Christie of Walkerton, and Tim (Lee) Christie of Georgia. She was a proud grandmother to Ashleigh (Charles) McCleave of Walkerton, Britanny Christie of Walkerton, and Joshua (Bobby) Christie of Berrien Springs, Michigan, and a loving great-grandmother to Branden Christie, Benjamin McCleave, Kenzie, Piper, and Madison Suppa. She is also survived by her brother, Randy (Nancy) Johnson of Elkhart.
Along with her parents and spouses, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Laverne, Raymond, John, and Paul Johnson.
The family is following Linda’s wishes to be cremated with no services. She will be laid to rest in Moweaqua in the spring.
