Linda L. Sawdon, 88, of South Bend, passed away on January 24th in the Ernestine M. Raclin House of Mishawaka, in the company of her loving family.
Linda was born in Starke Co., Indiana on March 26, 1936, to Donald and Stella Beerwart. After graduating high school, she married the love of her life, Larry Sawdon, in the Culver United Methodist Church on July 6th, 1958. She worked many years in the cafeteria at Greene School. She was a member of the Sumption Prairie United Methodist Church. Linda loved to read, working in her yard and keeping her cars clean, yet her greatest joy was the time she spent with her loving family.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Larry along with their children, Patricia L. “Patty” (Dale) Werner, Robert M. (Janelle) Sawdon and Michael R. (Laura) Sawdon, all of South Bend. She was the proud grandmother of 6 and the great grandmother of 5. Linda is also survived by her sister, Virginia Holstein of Knox, Don Beerwart of Punta Gorda, Florida, and Dan (Carol) Beerwart of Knox. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Diana L. Sawdon on September 13, 2016.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, January 29th, from 4:00 until 8:00pm in the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home, 23421 SR 23, South Bend. A funeral service celebrating Linda’s life will be held on Thursday, January 30th at 11:00am in the Sumption Prairie United Methodist Church, 24535 Roosevelt Rd., South Bend, with Pastor Ernie Troxell officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Sumption Prairie Cemetery of South Bend.
