Mary Ann Medlin, 76, of New Carlisle, passed away during the early morning hours of Friday, October 21st at home.
Mary was born in South Bend on September 18, 1946 in South Bend to Joseph and Mary Ann (Tirotta) Spencer. Mary had many talents and used those talents in the floral industry, where she had a knack for creating beautiful arrangements. Mary enjoyed trips to the casinos to try her luck, enjoyed many firefighters fish fry’s, her trips to the Dollar General, doing ‘scratchers’, drinking fountain Pepsi, and collecting Happy Meal Toys. Yet her greatest joy was being with family and friends.
Mary is survived by her 3 children; Jimmy Medlin of North Dakota, Mitzie Jacobs, and Stephanie (Dana) Schock of Wolcottville, IN. She was the proud grandmother of Danny (Tracy), Jade (Anthony), Samantha (Tyler), Shannon (Vince), Deaven (Brenda), Madison, Brittany, Tamara, Wesley, Cody, and Spencer and the great grandmother of Kaiden, Corbin, Asher, Collin, Josiah, KaMyra, Simon, Saddie, Lyla, Lacy, Unique, Niko, Airiana, Daishawnna and Mercedes. Mary is also survived by her sisters, Sharon, Nancy (Pat) and Pam. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Gregory, her sister Joan along with her parents, and brother-in-law, Geoffrey Forizs.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, October 27th from 5:00 until 7:00pm in the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home, 23421 State Road 23, where a celebration of life will be held at 7:00pm. She will be laid to rest in the Highland Cemetery of South Bend at a later date.
The Hanley and Sons Funeral Home extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to Mary Ann’s family and friends.
