Mary K. (Williams) Peters

Mary K. Peters, 82, of Walkerton, passed away on Sunday morning, December 3rd at home with her loving family by her side.

Mary was born in Hestand, Kentucky on May 13, 1941, to Everett and Martha (Stockton) Williams. After graduating high school, she moved to the Michiana area. On August 12, 1961, in South Bend she married the love of her life, Gary H. Peters. Mary enjoyed watching her soap operas and working in her flower beds, yet her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, along with their four children together; Kimberly (Jamie) Jacobs of South Bend, DeWayne (Wendy) Peters of North Liberty, Veachel (Tina) Peters of Walkerton, and Everett (April Potter) Peters of South Bend. She was the proud grandmother of 11, and the great grandmother of seven and a great-great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, along with her siblings, Nora Ford, Eugene and Veachel Williams.

There will be a service to celebrate Mary’s life at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in the Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel”, 23421 State Road 23, South Bend, IN  46614.  Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. prior to the service. In honor of Mary, memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545 and to Pet Refuge, Inc., 4626 S. Burnett Dr., South Bend, IN  46614.
