Michael P. Creager, Sr.

    Michael P. Creager, Sr., 75, of South Bend, passed away during the early morning hours of Monday, August 5th with his loving family by his side.

    Mike was born in South Bend on October 23, 1948, to Paul M. and Maureen B. (Malloy) Creager. After graduating high school, he served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He married the love of his life, Susan M. Rader in South Bend on January 24, 1969. Mike retired from the United States Service after 32 years of service as a mail carrier. Mike had a love for the outdoors, fishing and golfing with friends. He was an avid Chicago Bears, Cubs and Notre Dame sports fan. His greatest joy came from being with his loving family.

     Mike is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Susan M. Creager, along with their three children: Jennifer A. (Ray) Weldy of Osceola, Michael P. (Terri) Creager, Jr. and Jason M. (Lisa) Creager both of South Bend. He was the proud grandfather of 10, and the great grandfather of 2.  He is also survived by 2 sisters and a brother. Mike was preceded in death by his parents.

    As per Mike’s wishes cremation is to take place with a private family service to be held. He will be laid to rest at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or to American Legion Post 284, 23571 Grant Rd., South Bend, IN 46619.
