Neil O. Walter

                 Neil O. Walter, 95, of South Bend, passed away during the early evening hours of July 19th at West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation of South Bend.

                Neil was born in South Bend to Neil O. and Tina Walter, on August 9, 1926. He was one of three sons. Upon completing high school, he went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Marine Corp. He returned home and attended and graduated from Bethel College. He married the love of his life, Shirley Versmesse, and they shared many wonderful years together. She preceded him in death on November 13, 2019.

                Neil is survived by his loving children, Sherri L. Walter and Brian C. (Shelly) Walter both of South Bend. He was the proud grandfather of 4 and great grandfather of 2. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, along with two brothers, Dan and Charles Walter.

                As per Neil’s wishes cremation is to take place with no services scheduled at this time. Hanley and Sons Funeral Home is assisting Neil’s family with arrangements and wish to extend heartfelt condolences to all of Neil’s family and friends.
