Ralph C. Garber, 90, of South Bend passed away on July 31st, 2022, at Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness, with his family by his side.
Ralph was born in Warsaw, IN on July 27, 1932, to the late Alfred and Bessie Darlene (Mellott) Roberts. On August 19, 1961, he married Lois I. (Leedy) Garber in Rochester, IN. Ralph is survived by his sons, Daniel J. (Lisa) Garber of Menasha, WI., and Michael L. (Lisa) Garber of South Bend and his daughter, Laurie D. (Warren) Breit of South Bend, IN and six loving grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his sister, Judy Berkhart of Maryland and Carl (Judy) Garber of Denton, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lois on April 15, 2012.
He retired as a truck driver from Clark Equipment of Michigan City, IN and Mastic Corporation in South Bend. Following retirement, he relaxed and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and numerous friends he made during his life journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions to be made in Ralph’s name to Pet Refuge, 4626 Burnett Drive, South Bend, IN 46614 or 1st Brethren Church of Mishawaka.
The family will have a visitation in Ralph’s honor on Saturday, August 6th, from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel” located at 236421 State Road 23/Ireland Road, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Gene Eckerly officiating. Burial will take place at Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery at a later date.
