Rebecca “Becky” Cooper, 71, of New Carlisle passed away Tuesday September 15th at Hospice House, South Bend after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Becky was born on December 16, 1943 in South Bend, IN to the late Donald D. and Pearle B. (Kelver) Stroup.
On August 5, 1961 in South Bend she married Dean J. Cooper who survives. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her son Darren D. Cooper on July 14, 1998, her sister Belinda M. Carlin on June 22, 2014 and her brother Bruce A. Stroup on May 22, 2009.
She worked for many years as a Cosmetologist in the South Bend area.
Becky liked Native American ways, she enjoyed going to the Casino, cooking and traveling with her husband Dean. She made numerous friends throughout her life with her warm and outgoing personality.

Friends may gather with the family on Friday September 25th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Hanley and Sons “Southwest Chapel” Funeral Home located at State Road 23/W. Ireland Road, South Bend. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 26th at the funeral home with Pastor Denny Soule, Jr. officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend.
In lieu of flowers the family request all memorial contributions be made to The Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
