Rita M. Krol

Rita M. Krol, 93, of North Liberty, Indiana passed away at home on Sunday, May 19th with her loving family by her side.

Rita was born in Calumet City, Illinois to Anthony and Rose (Piskorz) Trozzy, on June 4, 1930. On May 20, 1950, in Calumet City, Illinois, she married the love of her life, Edwin C. Krol. They shared 73 years and 364 days together. She retired from RACO Corp. after many years, where she enjoyed her work as a press operator. In her spare time, she liked to read, play euchre, and go on camping trips. She also loved to cook and will be remembered for her Jalapeno Poppers and Liver dinners. She was an active Gold Member of the Crumstown Conservation Club. Her greatest joy came from being with and spending time with her loving family. 

Rita is survived by her loving husband, Edwin, along with their children; Janice M. (Randy) Rajski, Barbara A. Krol, both of South Bend, Rebecca S. (Ty) Heckaman of North Liberty and Bradley C. (Rose) Krol of South Bend. She was the proud grandmother of ‘too many to count’, the great-grandmother of ‘way too many to count’ and the great-great-grandmother of ‘way-way too many to count’. Rita is also survived by her sister, Roseanne Hawrot of Lansing, Illinois and her daughter-in-law, Anita Krol of South Bend. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, David who preceded her in 2019, her two sisters; Leona Lessner and Antoinette Worley, and by her three brothers, Tom, Joseph, and Robert Trozzy.

As per her wishes, cremation is to take place and a Celebration of Life will be held on June 23rd from 2:00 until 6:00PM at the Crumstown Conservation Club, 59440 Crumstown Hwy, North Liberty, IN 46554. Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel” is assisting Rita’s family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in Rita’s name to a charity of the Donor’s Choice.
