Robert Gorbics Obituary

  Robert A. Gorbics, 83, of South Bend, passed away during the early morning hours of November 16th in Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

          Robert was born in South Bend on May 9, 1938 to Anton and Annabell (McLone) Gorbics. On July 21, 1962 in South Bend, he married the love of his life, Nancy J. Craven. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2012. He retired from driving having spent many years working for Belleway Trucking. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and listening to country music, yet his greatest joy was being with and enjoying time with his family.

          Robert is survived by his loving children, Karen S. (Robert) Vineyard of Oregon, John A. (Lynda) Bickerstaff of Moonpark, CA, Bobby A. (Linda) Smallwood of San Antonio, Betty M. (William) Arnold of Corydon, IN Ellen L. (Mike) Schaupp of Longview, WA, and Eva McQuade of Sand Springs, OK. He was the proud grandfather of 17 and great-grandfather to 37.

          As per Robert’s wishes cremation is to take place. Hanley and Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements and wish to express their heartfelt condolences to all of Robert’s family. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s name to the West Edison Rd. Church of God, 23674 Edison Rd., South Bend, IN 46628.
