Ronald L. Klopfenstein, 62 of North Liberty passed away after a courageous year-long battle with cancer on the morning of Monday, May 21, 2024.
Ronald was born on May 13, 1962, in South Bend to Wilbur H. and Alene M. (Deneve) Klopfenstein.
Ronald is survived by his loving mother, Alene Klopfenstein of North Liberty, along with his brothers, Gregory G. (Kathy) Klopfenstein of North Liberty, Dale R. Klopfenstein of Berrien Springs, MI and Jerry W. Klopfenstein of Westfield, IN. He was the proud uncle of five, Roberta, Hannah, Grace, Katrena and Tyler.
Ron worked his whole life on the family Dairy Farm and loved the life farming provided. The family provided dairy tours to the local schools for over 40 years. He was active with the 4-H. He enjoyed tractors and his cows. His greatest joy came from being with his loving family and dear friends.
He touched many people’s lives and will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 28th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Hanley and Sons Funeral Home “Southwest Chapel” located at 23421 State Road 23, South Bend. Funeral service will be on Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the funeral home. Ronald will be laid to rest at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Hospice Foundation of St. Joseph County, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or to the St. Joseph County 4-H Scholarship Fund, 5117 S. Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN 46614.
